Costs
The World Price
Computers have a world price - pretty much the same everywhere. But....exchange rates do  not! The cost of a computer system in the US will be a much smaller percentage of a US school's working budget than the same computer system in a developing country
South Africa is where we have our pilot schools, so these figures are examples from there:
Computer in the US: $600.................... Teacher Salary in the rural US $3500/month
Same computer in South Africa: $600....
Teacher Salary in rural South Africa $1100/month
That computer actually costs a school in South Africa 3 times what it costs in the US.

Support Wizzy. There are a number of ways you can support Wizzy.Get Involved. Step 1. A courier collects outgoing email and requests for websites from remote Wizzy Internet School Labs and delivers them to a Wizzy Internet School Lab with a phone line. Step 2. During the day that school's and all the other school's data is stored on that school's WIZZY server.Step 3. At night, when phone rates are low, the WIZZY server uploads the day's outgoing data to the worldwide web, downloading the websites and email responses, hanging up by morning before the phone rates increases.Step 4. When the students arrive, the emails and websites are waiting to be viewed by the students and delivered by courier to the other schools. Transporting data on simple USB memory sticks makes all this possible.
